Establish and leverage international collaborative research base to control infectious diseases
Establish international collaborative research network for infectious diseases and manage human resource training programs
Expand support for customized research on infectious diseases
Establish and leverage an international collaborative research base to control infectious diseases
-
Select and open an overseas local research center (including infectious disease testing facilities)
- Select a local research center in Thailand to sign a research consignment contract and establish an international collaborative network through KOICID, under Inje university.
-
Select and open additional overseas local human resource exchange centers to establish a human resource exchange network
- Establish a human resource exchange network by concluding research consignment contracts with local research centers in Laos and Vietnam.
-
Develop programs to support the operation of overseas local research centers
- Identify where overseas local research centers currently stand and develop customized basic and clinical research programs.
- Develop SOPs to support customized research on infectious diseases.
Establish an international collaborative research network for infectious diseases and manage human resource training programs
-
Develop and manage basic and clinical training courses for overseas researchers
- Secure training facilities (including those for practice courses) and accommodations for overseas researchers.
- Hire trainers who can speak both English and their own local language and train and use them as professional instructors.
- Finalize overseas researchers who would like to participate as trainees.
-
Host international seminars
- Hold every year between May and June in major cities, such as Jeju Island.
- Invite consigned organizations carrying out research related to national/international infectious diseases as well as overseas contract partners.
- Host seminars jointly with KOICID under Inje University.
-
Plans on how to operate the overseas local research center, manage other research centers, and strengthen collaboration
- Request a floorplan of the local center to plan training that takes best advantage of the function of each facility. Carry out regular due diligence to check local research centers.
- Operate a flexible training program, e.g. short-term training programs that provide overseas lab tours and support for Korean researchers who require collaborative research at local research centers.
Expand support for customized research on infectious diseases
-
CROs will conduct a survey to Korean customers (academia, pharma/bio and diagnostic device industry, and etc.), asking if they require any basic and/or clinical research related to inflowing overseas infectious diseases.
- Develop and conduct a survey questionnaire that reflects the opinions of experts on Korea’s infectious diseases to find out if there is any demands for basic and/or clinical research related to infectious diseases in Korea.
- Conduct an additional survey to find out if there are any demands also from the researchers at the overseas local research center and human resource exchange centers.
- Establish strategies to develop customized research support programs for infectious diseases based on the results of Korean and overseas demand surveys.
- Continue exchanges by establishing a joint-alliance between the local research center and Korean CROs or building a branch office at the local center.
- Establish and operate plans to include local research centers in the support program for customized research on infectious diseases.
-
Promote customized research to control infectious diseases by establishing collaboration among CROs, academia, pharma/bio industries, and to save cost.
- Carry out collaborative research using local research labs such as national vaccine clinical research labs and overseas local research centers.
